Nutbourne Station

Anyone know where that bit was filmed?

reply

Gavin, it was filmed on the Longmore Military Railway, which is in Hampshire, I think. I believe the railway scenes in "The Great St Trinian's Train Robbery" were also filmed there. Hope this helps.

In the opening sequence the saddle tank locomotive pulling into the platform is marked LMR for Longmoor Military Railway, now no more, but frequently used in feature films.

Hi, there. I want to talk to you about ducts...........

There is a real Nutbourne station, but it's actually in West Sussex between Bosham (Where Canute tried to hold back the sea) and Southbourne.

Oh dear, that one again. Canute did NOT try to hold back the sea. He was demonstrating to his foolish, sycophantic courtiers the impossibility of such a task.

Thanks, I grew up near Bosham, I just couldn't be bothered to type the whole story. Some say Harold the 2nd was buried in the church nearby but it wasn't proved. I used to have Viola lesson just across the hoe, but that's another story.
