Copyright Date

Not to be nit-picky, but this sort of thing really is important. When viewing the opening credits the copyright date, given right in the film, is 1949 NOT 1950.

Watta ya lookn here for?

You'll see this discrepancy on many films.

And to demonstrate the ability to translate MCMXLIX. Which begs the question: why wasn't it MCMIL? Maybe because it sounds like something they use to put pepper on fast food (though not in 1949, or 1950).

Comcast and/or TCM, incidentally, shows it as "(1949)" in their onscreen listing.
