Good movie

Saw this movie for the first time today. A lot like Bonnie and Clyde and pretty good. Peggy Cummins reminds me of Rachel McAdams a little bit when she had blonde hair.

I really liked it also. I first read about it years ago in Danny Peary's wonderful book, "Cult Movies"

I watched this because of John Dall, who I loved in Rope and didn't make too many movies. I liked it a lot, it was made on a small budget but it was well filmed, directed and acted by Peggy Cummins and John Dall, what a pair of maroons, as Bugs Bunny would say. I've seen some complaints about the ending, but it wasn't really going to end any other way for those two.

Agreed. Very entertaining film noir. Peggy Cummings was the total package. Looks, good acting, and badass in this film.

What do you mean by "badass"? I hope you don't mean you admire the murderous character she plays.

What an odd little gem of a heist/noir film.

I agree. The final scene in the swamp was really eerie.

It is. Interesting story, good and tight writing, energetic direction and perfect leads. Better than director's other well known film, The Big Combo, although it lacks its excellent noir cinematography. The weird thing is that Gun Crazy is made five years earlier but looks more modern with the direction and some of the acting (funny, John Dall looked to me like a black-and-white Ben Affleck). I didn't like what happened right at the end but it is not a big deal.
