Peggy Cummins is so very sexy in this! How did it pass the censors?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how sensual Peggy was in "Gun Crazy." From the moment she appeared in the movie at the carnival, I was memsmerized.

There were a few scenes with Peggy in tight shirts/sweaters which really got my blood pumping. But mostly, it was her stage presence that was so powerful.

In those revealing scenes (the ones that her shirts revealed her chest's contours so well), I was surprised it passed muster with the Hayes code. Am I the only one to be surprised? I thought that level of sensuality would have been vetoed by the censors in 1949.

Did Peggy Cummins have any other big hits? It's a shame that Hollywood didn't make her a great star. She truly had it in this movie.

If you're reading this Peggy, I love you!

My goodness. Must be a sad business, living inside a brain like yours.

I guess even the censors were too taken with her natural assets to worry about deleting any scenes! She was gorgeous!

Indeed. The carnival scene with John Dall is seduction by gunfire, and check out how aroused she looks during the bank robbery and its famous tracking shot. That must have impressed Arthur Penn when he made Bonnie and Clyde.

According to her Wikipedia page, she soon returned to the UK.

Even when the Production Code was in force, sex and sexiness was never a problem as long as it occurred within certain parameters. It would have been scandalous, and would have not made it past the censors, if Annie Laurie Starr had benefited, profited, or even survived behaving as she did.

Hollywood loved women showing off their curves--Lana Turner, Rita Heyworth, Vivian Leigh, and the list goes on. They just couldn't enjoy it too much, or get away with anything immoral.

I don't know how much you watch old movies, but I didn't find her to be appealing at all. Her character is so repulsive I can't imagine having any admiration for her beauty.

You've never had the hots for a bad girl? Even with a terrible attitude? No man should live his life without chasing after at least one femme fatale!

This movie wasn't exactly risque. I'm sure no one had a problem.

She was in a sweater that made her breast look pointed.
