Victor Milner's great cinematography.

I thought Victor Milner's cinematography in this movie was exceptional - masterfully blending the grandeur and expanse of the west with the nuanced light and shadows of film noir. For me, one scene stands out - the hanging of Juan Herrera. The composition and lighting in that scene perfectly underscored the drama of that pivotal moment in the movie. Victor Milner, an eight-time Oscar nominee, received an Oscar nomination for Best Black-and-White Cinematography for his work in this movie, the film's only nomination.
