Acrobats

Burt Lancaster and Nick Cravat, The Flame and the Arrow: Burt Lancaster was a professional acrobat before he took up acting, so it's no surprise that he was able to swashbuckle with the best of them in The Flame and the Arrow. Warner Brothers even sent him on a publicity tour during which he perched on poles and re-created his feats from the film. The Oscar-winner displayed his athletic prowess in later films as well, like Trapeze and The Train.

Nick Cravat, who was also in this film, was the long-time circus acrobatic partner of Burt Lancaster (performing as "Lang & Cravat").

There's a scene where Cravat is in a hayloft...and he jumps off, does a flip, and lands sitting on Lancaster's shoulders. I gotta admit this stunt was impressive.

And there were a lot of other cool tricks, such as when Lancaster is sitting on a tree limb and rolls off backwards, doing a back flip and landing on his feet.

Not to mention their rope climbing skills, done with only their arms without using their legs at all.
