Marilyn Monroe

___Marilyn is very attractive and sophisticated in this early role, if a tad overdressed for the roller derby. I have seen photos of Mickey Rooney and Monroe out doing the night spots around this same time. Of course Marilyn was rather tall at 5'6", and in heels she towers over Rooney, something I suppose he was used to. He had some rather strange things to say about her in his book. Among the remarks, that she was the best at a particular act in Hollywood. Something that I doubt would make her unpopular with anyone in America, if not the known world. Also, that he had named her! That was pretty ludicrous. Where Marilyn was concerned, exaggeration and outright lies were the norm.
