I just auditioned for this for theater

It wasn't until I just auditioned for this that I even realized there was an older original version.
Like many, I only knew about the 90s version and the second one with the mother and bride having kids.

But for the play, they based it off of this version. I was wondering why the character was named Kay and not Annie......
