Joan Bennett- still as beautiful as ever

I really think that Joan Bennett at 40, is still as natural a beauty as ever in this film. Anyone else agree?

Definitely. I can only hope that my waist will still be that small when I'm 40!

i agree... when she comes down the stairs, ready for the wedding -- she simply takes Stanley's breath away (and probably Spencer Tracy's too!) -- he can only muster an "Ellie...!" you know what he's thinking! she's flattered and loves his response... that is my FAVORITE scene in the movie -- i wait for it every time!!! what a movie -- I tell the 'young' people i work with they must see it!! they only know the remake! i don't think they can believe me though!

I totally agree! Joan Bennett is every bit as breathtakingly beautiful as Elizabeth Taylor, and, that is saying a lot!!!

I fully agree. She was simply stunning as the mother of the bride. I'm not much familiar with her work, but after watching this, I'm certainly eager to know much more of it.
