Who is Miss Hush?

I doubt anyone knows this, but Daffy's reference to "Miss Shush" is a reference to an actual radio quiz contest known as "Miss Hush." Contestants had to guess who Miss Hush was and it was quite a popular contest at the time. The only reference I have been able to find about it was an episode of the Jack Benny Program. In it, Jack plays Uncle Sam who is ringing out the old year (1949, I believe). He is discussing all the great American consumer goods made in the last year (washing machines, dishwashers, et. al.) when Frank Nelson (the guy who says "YEEEEEESSSS?") busts in and says "Yes, but they all went to the person who guessed who Miss Hush was!"

Understandably, this contest has long since been forgotten. I asked my grandparents about it and they had no idea what I was talking about. So, anyone have any ide who she was or who put the contest together, or how to start researching it? I've always been curious about it.

Five minutes after asking my question, I find an article from Time Magazine dated Monday, December 8, 1947:

Of course, I still don't know who she is. Any ideas?
