Double Crossbones

I happened to meet Donald O'Connor some years back and in the course of the conversation, I mentioned that I'd always liked "Double Crossbones" and that his name in it, "Blood Thirsty Dave", always cracked me up.
He seemed surprised and told me he thought "Double Crossbones" was the worst movie he'd made! That surprised me as I've always had a soft spot for it.
Just purchased the Universal 4-picture Pirate package, just to get this one.
Also a fan of Helena Carter too!

Excellent transfer on the Universal 4-pack. I am kind of scratching my head how I'm only the 24th vote for this film here, yet the film seemed like a relatively big-budgeted affair.

I rented it and just finished watching it. Totally enjoyed it. Hey, it was just a little fun movie, nothing serious. But some really good laughs.

Same here. I have read elsewhere that O'Connor thought it dreadful, so I was expecting the worst, but I actually really liked it! It's light-hearted and fun, looks great, and O'Connor's natural wit, charm and athleticism are on full display.
