This is the Peter Lorre Film to See!

Watch "Double Confession"! I came upon this movie by accident, and was glad I did. At the end, I'm still a bit confused by the plot, but no matter...the thing that really fascinated me was Peter Lorre's performance as Paynter, which is a rather important role. Paynter's character is very specific and very believable: an oddball, somewhat self-pitying, hanger-on. He's quite malevolent, and has his reasons. But watch his scenes closely. He's natural, controlled, and fascinating. A great Lorre discovery!

I concur, watched this last night, cracking little British thriller. England by the seaside looks so lovely and new, filmed just six years after World War 2, shame it's not available on DVD. No one plays sinister like Peter Lorre.

Has been acquired by the UK channel - "Movies4Men" and is being shown as I type.

I just saw it yesterday on Movies4Men. It's a great addition to their catalogue. I was delighted to see that Peter Lorre was in it. I'm sure all of his fans will want to see this rarity. Good film. With so many twists in the plot, it kept my interest throughout.

Thee are some surprising little gems on 'Movies for men' .. but I SO wish they had given it a better name.. when female friends see it on my chanel menu, they so get the wrong idea...
But what a film.. and I'm glad someone else was a bit confused by the ending...

few visible scars

Its a little seen film being shown on the satellite channels. Good cast, intriguing but not wholly successful.

Its that man again!!
