Large screen tv in the bar!!

As explained it was "3' by 4' and 1300 dollars or well over 5 grand in today's money. The tv was 60" diagonal and appeared to be flat screened. Only a very rich person could have had one of these in their homes.
Most people made less than 100 bucks weekly and this would have been a luxury item and well beyond their budgets.

Any of you remember seeing tvs like this possibly even in museums if nowhere else?

That TV was the most futuristic thing I've seen in a long time! It totally mimicked the big flat screens in so many sports bars today. Only except it had the large control box -- which resembled cable boxes from the 1980's!

So in this movie from 1950, it took about 50 or so years for the technology to come to pass.

To a new world of gods and monsters!
