June Cleaver

I'm surprised that I'm the first to bring up on here that Barbara Billingsley had a bit part as the editor's secretary. One of the fun things about watching movies from yesteryear is seeing who's going to turn up in unexpected places.

I didn't notice her and I'm a huge 'Leave it to Beaver' fan. I watch the reruns on TV Land.

I wish I had a Kryptonite cross, because then I could keep Dracula & Superman away.

reply

Born in 1915 she was 35 in this movie and seven years before "Beaver".

Imdb lists many movies she was in so hopefully TCM has more BB movies in its vault!

I only noticed Barbara Billingsley in the credits AFTER I thought I had heard Hugh Beaumont's voice during the part where the psychiatrist first showed up on the scene, but there's no mention of him in the credits. Strange indeed.
Also, Robert Young's older brother Roger Moore (no, not 007) is an extra in this film. Apparently he was in over 200 titles, always uncredited.

reply

Geez, poor Rog -- always the lead-weight-around-little-brother's-neck, never the bride.
