I agree. This film is now in my top 10 westerns list.
I finally saw this excellent overlooked film tonight, along with 'The Tall Target', both which I had taped in crappy SLP speed on VHS back in Sept '08 (I have a backlog of over 150 films recorded off TCM to watch) along with 'Stars in My Crown' (J.Tourneur) and 'One Way Passage', which I'll be watching either this afternoon or later tonight after I've had some sleep.
I have yet to see 'The Furies', but am looking forward to it.
Since 'Devil's Doorway' is an MGM film and I believe that WB has the MGM library (along with RKO's titles), wouldn't it fall into the massive list of titles that Warner Archives is eventually releasing for $20 each direct from their website? It's not in the first batch of 150 titles, though sadly I doubt that's because they've been gearing up to make a great Special Edition dvd of it (highly unlikely). If it's one of those 6,800 or so titles in their neglected library, then at least we should see it on dvd sometime before the Earth crashes into the Sun...

'Life is Beautiful' is to Holocaust movies what 'Twilight' is to vampire movies.
