This film could've been considerably better

If they didn't have such an emotionless, incredibly cliche narrator for it. I understand that was how it was done at the time, but seriously, where's the originality? It was a struggle listening to his voice for the 20 minutes that it lasted when I watched it on TV last night. It was disappointing, especially for Kubrick. Anyone agree?

You're referring to the story, not the narrator. I have nothing against the structure of the plot, only the fashion in which it is narrated.

What???? Where do you get that from??
Day of the Fight is a short of its time, and shows the visual promise of the Director.

Kubrick was 22 when he made this. It was his first film. Considering what he did later, who F-ing cares.

It is a documentary not an actual film, same with Flying Padre: An RKO-Pathe Screenliner and The Seafarers.
