One way to get hold of it, is to download it using (for example) eMule (www.emule-project.net)
I just did - it's approximately 175MB.
Only two film prints of any of Sir Stanley's short films are ever shown at any Kubrick retrospectives, this one and FLYING PADRE - both of which are owned by RKO Pictures - who owns RKO now is a different matter? Most Cinematheques show these two prints.
His third short, THE SEAFARERES, is only avaliable on VHS (NTSC), but these are all bootlegs, and avaliable eveywhere...BUT beware of the quality it suck's...never seen a good one yet (and I've seen a few). Try and contact the Kubrick estate and see if they would eventually release them on video. His three shorts and first feature FEAR & DESIRE total 2 hrs worth a screen time and would make a great DVD!!!!
Could you please elaborate on how to use Emule and specifically download "Day of the Fight"? I would be very appreciative!
shareA guy is selling a bootleg DVD on ebay, called "Stanley Kubrick Collection 1951-1953". It has all four of Stanley Kubrick's early films. The price is $17.99, plus shipping and handling. The films aren't in great condition, but it's not that bad, considering they're so hard to find.

I found it on bittorrent through demonoid.com
shareSince you posted this about four years ago, I doubt you still need the information, but I'll still put it out there.
I recently found this, and "The Seafarers" on Google Video. Flying Padre is probably on there, too, but I watched it on YouTube.

This file has some issues qualitywise, but it's good enough for a casual viewing. Archive.org has lots of good public domain stuff.
