Was Elizabeth Scott singing?

I also watched another movie where she was a nightclub singer and I was wandering if did her own songs?

reply

No, dubbed by Trudy Stevens.

It appears you're right. Also, it sure seemed like her singing. The problem is that on this board, it says that she was dubbed by Trudy Stevens:

I thought it looked rather convincing. Her singing scenes were lovely.

Whoever it was, the scenes of her crowing away in some bar stopped the film dead on its tracks each time - tacky songs performed with that ridiculous little smile on her face. Scott was by far the weakest aspect of the movie in general as well as her woodenly frail, breathless "soulful gal" schtick was more than just a little annoying to behold. She was very good in both Dead Reckoning and Too Late For Tears, but here she´s quite terrible (although one wonders how well would ´any´ actress have done when given such dreadful dialogue Scott was up against. Curiously, all other actors had a pretty well written stuff to mouth). Otherwise an impressive little noir though, with a more than adequate Chuck Heston in what´s apparently his first really "visible" role. 7,5/10.

...you mean from John Adams:...facts are stubborn things....I'm sure RR would concur.

___I see absolutely no reason to ever dubb Scott, she was an excellent singer, which she frequently did in her films, and later in the 50's when she released full long play albums.
