Joan Crawford running the gamut...

She really does it all in this. Some of the emotional transitions are sublime, as well as the really cohesive and motivated character arc. It has been said that the arc of Joan's character in this combines numerous different aspects from Joan's many roles up until this one in 1950 and it really does. It's a brilliant performance in a crisp, well structured and gritty Warner Bros. gangster-noir.

I just watched it and it just gets better each time I see it.
