Parole Board's Power
Did they actually have the power to tell ex-convicts whom they could and couldn't marry? And was it just the women, or did they have this power over men too? I assume they don't have this power today.

shareA google search says yes. Parolees are still technically "in custody" and need permission to marry, to move residence, change jobs, etc.
