Because the heroine isn't interesting, or doesn't do anything interesting. The fairy Godmother and her little animal friends rescue her over and over, push her into a position where the Prince can carry her off.

And it's not like "Sleeping Beauty" where the fairy godmothers are the actual heroes of the film, it's just a film about a very passive girl getting a lot of help.

But he doesn’t carry her off, you’re thinking of Snow White. When you say Cinderella isn’t interesting or doesn’t do anything interesting, what do you mean? What does a heroine have to do to catch your interest?

Needless to say I don’t think she was ever intended to be a heroine. Just a Princess by Marriage.
