Why mice?!?!?!?!?

Why couldn't they just stick to talking dogs, horses, birds etc.

Why use animals as terrifying as rodents??? I'm surprised Cinderella wasn't scared of them.

Plus how is it that they can talk but the other animals can't?? (Lucifer, Bruno, the horse, the birds)

Why do most people hate poor rodents? The majority of them are adorable. I love mice, so Cinderella must be on my side of the fence. I understand the fear of diseases in certain cases, but it surprises me that so many individuals are terrified of mice and rats in general. Moreover, it seems that the complaints about rodents are limited to mice and rats even though there are more types. Mice are very gentle, trusting creatures and rats are relaxed ones who mind their own business. Neither kind of animal purposely harms humans unless if one is directly threatened. They are always just looking for food, water, and shelter. You ask an excellent question about why the mice are the only animals who talk like humans. It is because it is easier to show emotions or even suggest words with the other animals' natural sounds like chirping, barking, and neighing. The audience would not be able to follow constant squeaking which would all run together eventually and is not something that mice always do anyway. The other creatures communicating with Cinderella in their own ways demonstrate that she is sweet enough to understand and listen to them.
