"Squeak easy"?


When the teenage boy comes to take one of the Gilbreth girls to the dance, he arrives in a jalopy with slogans painted on the sides. One of them is "Squeak Easy." I've never heard of this saying. Anyone knows what it means?

It's a pun on the word speakeasy - clubs or bars where you could get served alcohol if you knew someone. This was during the prohibition era. The pun is because of the jalopy that probably squeaks a lot
