I just saw this and I had a few questions that I was wondering if someone could answer: ****CONTAINS SPOILERS****

- You can go to jail for just being a prostitute?

- Does anyone have an idea who the man is in the photograph on Benton (Agnes Moorehead)'s desk? It looked like he might have been in uniform. I kept expecting something in the story to explain this because he was prominent in most shots of the desk.

- How is going to "the death house" (where Kitty went) different than where they are at now?

1. Yes.
2. Mr. Benton, her absentee husband who is in the military.
3. Where they are now, the inmates are serving time and will either eventually be released or else live out their natural lives there. In 'the death house' the inmates await execution.
