Patricia Neal Totally Miscast

I think Patricia Neal is a good actress and is very good in certain roles, but she was sorely miscast here. While Neal is a handsome woman, she has neither the looks nor the demeanor of the character as described throughout the movie. Her character is supposed to be a southern belle and is referenced as a true beauty over and over in the film. A southern belle would be soft, whereas Neal is sharp and tough in her looks and her manner. As much as she is referenced as beautiful, I have a hard time seeing how Gary Cooper would be this enamored of her, especially when Lauren Bacall is around.
