Big Hole???

It was pretty clearly established that Frederica's husband was an SS officer that was killed in Russia or perhaps by the Russians. This would have occurred at the latest in 1945 and at the earliest 1941. So who was this man in STL? We can assume he was German yet Germans were not been allowed to immigrate into the US after 12-7-41. I am sure there is a complex way to explain this ... but it would be very complicated ... and in the end would not be plausible.

Another thing that bothered me ... how did Stieber know that Frederica was playing Danny? All I could see was that he knew she had a pen pal in STL?
