Overdue for a DVD release

Both this and the first Kirk Alyn SUPERMAN serial deserve the DVD treatment, especially with a new Superman feature on the horizon.

reply

I agree. With Batman Begins out and the Batman and Robin 1949 movie serial now out on DVD, Warner Bros. should release this on DVD when Superman Returns comes out.

reply

And why not a DVD of the original World War II BATMAN serial, while we're at it? So far, it only exists as an LP mode tape from GoodTimes.

I'm waiting with baited breath....

My stomach is talking...should I kill the little man who lives in there so he'll shut up??

reply

Hopefully now that both Batman serials are out and with the Superman movie coming out next year, they'll release both Superman serials.

reply

i agree both superman and atom man vs superman are way overdue for dvd releases. maybe we should all write the WB to say "hey we want these released" heck the WB has been releasing everything else

reply

Absolutely. I have these on VHS (taped them off of AMC YEARS ago) and this serial is one of the best serials ever made. I have quite a collection (as I imagine many of you do) of serials--all the Dick Tracy's, Rocketman, Commando Cody, Captain America, Green Hornet, etc. etc.

This one is just tops. And as a Superman story it's amazing also! Great fun. Deserves a DVD treatment. :-D

Warner is supposed to realease both this and the other Alyn Superman serial during the last quarter of this year (2006) as part of their "Year of Superman Returns" promotion.

It's available for pre-order from Amazon for $19.03. This is for BOTH Superman (1948) and Atom Man vs. Superman (1950). It is due out Nov. 28.
