Best DVD version?

Because this movie fell through the cracks to become public domain the DVD copy I bought and I suspect the others available are all terrible quality. Does anyone know if there is a good quality version out there or if it will be included on a Matirn & Lewis Collection Vol. 3?

I actually came here to post the very same question. I did some searching online and haven't found anything that would be considered the "definitive" edition. Although it would be nice to have some sort of extras, I'm mainly concerned with the quality of the movie itself. I've read about different DVD versions having scratchy pictures, or bad audio, or being too bright, etc. Some versions have complete credits, while other companies have edited them.

So far the 'best' version I've read about is from Madacy--not that the quality is perfect, but it's the best of what's available. I've had bad luck with them in the past so I admit I'm skeptical. If you're going to look for it, look foa a version with a couple extras: random newsreel footage (stuff from the year of the movie, but not with Martin & Lewis) and some bloopers of Abbott & Costello. If you hear of a better version, or if you pick this one up, please post here if you can.

The Goodtimes version isn't too bad. I don't know how it compares to any others, though

I ended up getting this one because it appeared to have a bunch of extras (wish one of the editions were WS, though!): http://product.half.ebay.com/_W0QQprZ3352680QQtgZinfo

That's the version I have and the film source is in terrible condition. You don't want this movie in wide screen because it wasn't filmed that way. A wide screen version of this film would have to have the bottom and the top cropped off. Basically every film before The Robe in 1953 or whenever (with some exceptions like The Big Trail) were filmed in full screen format and that's the way to view them.

I got it in the "Ratpack" edition, and it's watchable, that's about it.
