Usually when I read the monthly Criterion announcements, I just nod when I see a title I like, but this month, with The Asphalt Jungle and The Exterminating Angel, I shouted "YES!".

I screamed "yes!", and then got up, and did a little dance. The Asphalt Jungle, especially, is one I've been repeatedly harrassi.....er, Tweeting Criterion to grab. This has been my most wanted blu-ray for a while, and I just wanted Warner Archive or Criterion to finally release it. When I saw it was Criterion doing it (and especially after spying all the bonus features), I was literally overjoyed!

I have not as of yet seen The Exterminating Angel, but it's high on my to watch list. MoreLuis Buñuel is a really great thing. I'm excited by Roma, too. Love Fellini. A really strong month to close the year.

Here's the link to Criterion's own page with full details:

SRP is the label's usual $39.95 (Blu) and $29.95 (DVD). Release date December 13, 2016.

This release would seem to confirm Criterion now has a deal with Warner to release movies owned by that studio, which if true means a wealth of great films may now be at Criterion's disposal.
