I love Marilyn Monroe's performance

I love this film in general, but I just had to say how much I enjoyed Marilyn Monroe's small amount of screen time. She made such a big impression with only a few lines of dialogue and was so funny!

Maturity. The very staple of the IMDb message boards.

Apparently, and at the time, your impression was shared by more than a few well-placed others.

"I can't jus yell 'butler! What if somebody's name is 'Butler'?" (or something like that). She was wonderful in "All About Eve".

"What do you want me to do, draw a picture? Spell it out!"

I have to agree...Watch her between her lines ... she doesn't just sit there waiting for her next line, she listens and reacts exactly as her character,Claudia Casswell, would, which is the essence of acting. .

MISS CASWELL (to a passing butler) Oh, waiter... The butler goes right by.

ADDISON That isn't a waiter, my dear. That's a butler.

MISS CASWELL Well, I can't yell "Oh, butler," can I? Maybe somebody's name is Butler...

ADDISON You have a point. An idiotic one, but a point.

MISS CASWELL I don't want to make trouble. All I want is a drink.

Miss Casswell is an actress,a graduate of Copacabana School of Dramatic Art.

I noticed both Monroe and Holm did really well at making the use of their screen time when they had no dialogue. Glad at least one of them got an Oscar nomination for their work here. 

I can't help but giggle when she smiles and struts offscreen to Max Fabian during the party scene. Such a small thing, but so priceless!

Her part was the best in the movie! She was so funny and I smiled every time she was on screen.

Amazing how your eye goes right to her, even with Davis and Sanders on screen.

Amazing how my eye's DON'T do that.

Agreed. I don't see anything but Davis when she's on screen.

Marilyn was adorable. Marilyn being Marilyn really. Hardly a stretch.

Her staggering out of the restroom after her reading was a great touch. She looked like she had been ill from a combination of nerves and drinking too much the night before.

That's the magic of Monroe. Have you seen her in many other films? Like The Seven Year Itch? She was so sexy and sweet in that. And vulnerable and hot in Some Like it Hot. And not-so-nice and not-so-sweet in Niagara.

Marilyn was hilarious in this movie.
