Has anyone ever seen George Sanders in the film

"I Can Get It For You Wholesale"? He plays a character VERY similar to "Addison Dewitt". J.F. Noble.

and in rebecca as well.

reply

He was in the season five finale of Mission Impossible playing an arms dealer (the designated bad guy of the week), but his character reminded me of Addison DeWitt. Which was fine by me, I loved anything George Sanders performed in.

reply

Sanders did well as the cad.

It's that man again!!

Sanders did well as the cad.

Well-said. He could get that lovely voice of his to drip with contempt and sarcasm.

Anyone who wants to see more Sanders as a cad should check out Rebecca, The Moon and Sixpence, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Private Affairs of Bel Ami, or The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

For Sanders as a good guy, try the Saint or Falcon movies (his brother, who sounded almost identical, also played The Falcon), Village of the Damned, or Foreign Correspondent.

And be sure to check him out in Solomon and Bathsheba.

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

And Shere Khan in The Jungle book -- thaaaaaaat voice, coming out of the mouth of a Sanders-esque tiger, is perfect:

I forgot about that one. Thanks for pointing that out.

reply

You're welcome (and please don't imagine that in the voice of George Sanders -- I'm being sincere, not sarcastic!).

reply

I know you're being sincere, but it IS cool to imagine anything anyone says in George's voice.

reply

Don't forget "Ivanhoe".

reply

I hate to admit this, but I did. Thanks for the reminder.

reply

And "The Ghost and Mrs Muir", where he is so perfectly cast it gives part of the plot away.

It is not our abilities that show who we truly are...it is our choices

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.
