Are any of the contestants still alive?

Hey does anyone know if any of the contestants on this show are still alive? Some of them were only 18 at the time, so it's possible.

Why? Do you want to contact them? Just kidding. I think it is safe to say that the majority of these contestants are no longer alive with just a small percentage still around. Like Fifi the Sheep hair lady. She says on the show she was born in 1898 and was fifty at the time. So the chances are slim that she's around today at 103.

Phyllis Diller was a contestant, and she's still hanging in there.

Pedro Gonzales Gonzalez and Alice Backes just passed away recently, but there are several still alive.

Candace Bergan and Melinda Marx (they were kids when they were on).
Mr Universe Reg Lewis is still alive, as is actress Vera Miles.

Not anymore.

Yes! My mom was on the show in January 1951. The show theme was "The Birds and the Bees." I have been trying to find out which DVD it is on, if it was saved.
Does anyone know? I'd love to get a copy for her...she's 81 now.

I'd like to know what became of the hobo/hillbilly/folk singer.

As mentioned above, some of the contestants were only teenagers when they appeared on this show. In fact, there was one boy originally from Mexico who knew a heck of a lot about Greek Mythology--and he was in the 7th grade at the time of his appearance! If you check You Tube videos, you will occasionally see comments from people saying that the contestant is a relative and that he/she is still alive. In addition, most of the contestants are listed in the IMDb, even if they never appeared on TV or in the movies at any other time, and the IMDb lists several of them as still being alive.

I wish someone would hurry up and make a documentary in which some of these "survivors" could be interviewed about being on the show and what they have been doing in the intervening decades. Time's a waistin'!

Yes, my parents, Milt and Tuulikki Woods are still alive and well...and still just as much in love at ages 86 and 87! My mom was on the show for a record 3 consecutive weeks. I have a copy of the last episode, where my dad joined her, but to get the other two costs an arm and a leg from the Library of Congress where they are archived.

My folks loved their experience on You Bet Your Life, although my mother said that Groucho was a bit lecherous.
