Spike Jones rocks- in 1951!

There was very little on TV in 1951. Imagine, then, turning on your TV and seeing Spike Jones and His City Slickers create enought energy to light up Chicago, where this episode was filmed. If you have heard his records but have never seen Spike and his band perform live, you are in for a treat. They perform on TV just like they sound on recordings- wild, crazy, out of this world, performing tricks and stunts without losing a note or a beat. It can't be put on paper exactly wht they do- after all, there is a word limit here. If you ever get to see an old video of theird like I did, you're in for a treat. Spike Jones was truly ahead of his time, in terms of what he did on TV compared to what was on then- and now.
