Robert Clary

I am trying to identify the song Robert Clary sang in Season 2 Episode 21 of the Colgate Comedy Hour which aired on January 20, 1952. Can anyone help?

I don't know. Let me ask Klink or Schultz or one of Hogan's boys if they might know. Maybe it was a song about General Burkhalter or Major Hochstetter...LOL.

Wasn't Clary Eddie Cantor's son-in-law?

reply

I really don't know. He very well could have been. It's too bad Larry Hovis, who played the part of Carter on Hogan's Heroes isn't still alive. I spoke to him a few times online before his death and it would have been a good question to ask him. I'm sure after working so many years together, the cast of Hogan's Heroes knew each other well enough to where they knew each other's families too. I'm not sure how to get hold of Robert Clary, but now I'm interested in whether he was Eddie Cantor's son in law too.

For what it is worth Robert Clary married Eddie Cantor's daughter, Natalie, in 1965. Eddie had passed away the year before. Her mother had passed away in 1962.
