There are VHS and DVDS available of shows with Martin and Lewis, Abbott and Costello and Eddie Cantor but there doesn't seem to be any commercially available with Donald O'connor who was the one host to have actually won an Emmy for his performance. I've seen a couple with Donald and he is his usual charming, brilliant, talented self; would love to see more - it's a pity they aren't available.
shareA regular skit on the Donald O'Connor shows featured two terrible song writers: O'Connor and...? The name Miller comes to mind. Stu Miller, Dave Miller? Their efforts involved trying to come up with hit songs that sounded an awful lot like real hits. Rosemary Clooney had "Come on a my House." There were major floods in the Midwest that year and damage was great. O'Connor and Miller thought up a song "If you can't come to my house, my house'll come over to you." I believe they were also responsible for "I Don't Want no Ricochet Rifles."
