i have looked for this film all over but cant find it, does anyone know where it can be bought?

Have a look on ebay. I bought a copy off there just recently, although I do believe they are pretty difficult to get hold of. Still, if you keep looking you may find a copy eventually.

It's now widely available as a release in the Warner Bros. Archive Collection -- billed as a "film noir"!
