Rear Window

Did Hitchcock's Idea for the movie Rear Window come from this movie?

The Window was written by Cornell Woolrich who was kinda the Edgar Allen Poe of his day. He also wrote the short story "It Had to be Murder"...which the movie "Rear Window" is based on.

The Window was written first though...(I think)...and made into a movie first too... 1949...with Rear Window in 1954. There's a couple other "newer" movies with kids that have that same theme...using both The Window and Rear Window plots.

Even though they're for kids...they're actually more "believable" then last year's Disturbia.

One is "Clubhouse Detectives"...and the other is "The Darklings"...which has Tippi Hedren ...(from Hitchcock's The Birds)...playing the grandmom.

No. The two films are from two different stories by Cornell Woolrich. 'The WIndow' is based on his story 'The Boy Cried Murder.' The film was remade in 1966 using Woolrich's original title.
