Remake

It said in the The Times today that there are plans for a remake!

I can't really imagine a remake, they would have to set it in the same time period for it to have a chance of having the same charm I think.

The curse of mobile phones today would spoil this film if it was set in 2006 or 1986 for that matter!

I'll certainly be on the look out for it though and if they do I will be intrigued to see how they do it, perhaps it would have to be slightly removed from the original?

Interesting.

If they go through with the remake I hope it's in Gaelic!

And that they include the song Brochan Lom like in the original.

I realize it's been 5 1/2 years since your post, but here are a few links related to the remake of "Whisky Galore!":

Also, for anyone interested, a [mostly tepid] sequel to this film was written and produced in 1957, titled "Rockets Galore!".

In another comment on this board someone said, "Bring back hanging for sheep stealing." I say bring back hanging for people who attempt remakes! Remember the hatchet job they did on "The Ladykillers?"
