It seems someone suggested "Scotch On The Rocks" would have been the best title and I think I agree.
It's also amusing to note that, according to the trivia section, the director MacKendrick later came to a realization that the most "Scottish" character in the film was the puritan spoilsport Englishman Waggett and the islanders all behaved like Irishmen.
