The Untouchables (1987) + The Undercover Man

I like watching these older movies to see how they influence more recent films. For example at the end of Undercover Man it is learned that the panel of potential jurors have been bought by the mob. So the judge orders his panel to be switched with another panel of jurors. Just like at the end of "The Untouchables" (1987). But if you don't watch the older movies you'll never catch those little details. Good stuff.

Also in real life. Capones' trial was the basis of the story not The Untouchables..

Read my post again. I know the history. What I was pointing out was the way it was staged in the 1987 version of "The Untouchables" owes much to the way it was staged in "The Undercover Man". Which is from 1949.

Sorry if I didn't make that very clear.

Good catch, I had forgotten about that part of The Untouchables.
