Boring movie

Well presented, but boring and too talkative. Not one of Hitchcock's best.

reply

Yep. That's it in a nutshell. Some parts were interesting like with the cleaning women or Ingrid talking about the murder. Other than that it was just too dull.

reply

Yeah, it started off so boring I had to shut it off. That says a lot considering I usually force myself to watch one of Hitchcock's entire films even if they suck. "Rope" is an example of a film that sucked for the first ten minutes and then got interesting. I don't think the same can be said but "Under Capricorn" but there are those who think this is some sort of masterpiece. Personally, all of the babbling British nonsense doesn't help to pique my interest. At least it serves a purpose in "Frenzy."

reply

I still haven't seen "Rope" or "Jamaica Inn". I've seen most of the Hitchcock " talkies". I enjoyed "Frenzy".

Unfortunately I agree. I kept dozing off during this one.

Yes this film is quite boring. There is no tension or drama. I don't think it's a bad film just not a interesting one. Juno and the Paycock on the other hand is a boring and bad film from Hitchcock.

reply

"Juno and the Paycock" boring? Granted it has nothing to do with Hitch' canon, but it's a surprisingly poignant family drama that contradicts all the cliche we have on Irish society. And it gets pretty dark as the plot moves forward, I can't understand how you can see the film till the last fifteen minutes and find it boring.

Darth Vader is scary and I  The Godfather
