seen some great movies in my time, but this one was....extraordinary

what an incredible movie. Neorealism is the ultimate in moviemaking. I have always read many references to Rosselini, and now I know why.

Freaking great film!

Totally agree. A amrvellous film. Neorealism is amazing.

Couldn't agree less on any point.

I can't imagine how this movie was even made. Just the mere physical discomfort of Ingrid Bergman running barefoot on all those rocks. The fishing scene & the volcano scene seem to be nearly technically impossible.

Beyond brilliant work on so many levels. This was made in 1950, decades before computers existed. It must be hard for you kids to even imagine the kind of work that must gone into making this movie.

Unbelievable & truly amazing effort from the cinematographer, camera crew, art director, the extras, & of course the lead actors, Bergman & Rossellini. Amazing piece of art on every level.

Sorry to rain on your parade in but I reckon the film is vapid. Melodramatic yes but utterly empty.

And I reckon you're a dick. What's your point?

What gives you the right to make a rude remark about someone you don't know? I exercised my right to disagree with other peoples views. You are merely being personal with no foundation. It says more about you than me. If you are a decent person you'll delete your post. Somehow I doubt you will.

Extraordinary? Yes, extraordinarily boring!

I quite agree with BwlBoy. This was a misfire for Rossellini...Journey To Italy (1954) is much better.

I can't blame Bergman who was just following direction.

Excuse me for talking while you're interrupting.
