Grand Nationals

About ten minutes into the movie, Shawn O'Hara goes into detail as to why he gave up training jumping races. He reflects back to the last Grand National where his rider Danny was killed and his horse, Black Watch broke his back. As he described the events of that day, it showed real footage of the race and the horses attempting the last jump with a number of them going down(painful to watch).

This very exact footage is used in the movie, National Velvet with Elizabeth Taylor.
