Shirley's accent.

I'm about 30 minutes into The Story of Seabiscuit and I'm enjoying it immensely so far. Gorgeous Technicolor and some great performances by Shirley Temple, Barry Fitzgerald and Donald MacBride. And the narrative of Seabiscuit, the weird little mutant horse that could, is very compelling.

But the best thing is Shirley's Irish accent! It's hilarious, adorable and terrible at the same time.

Lon MacAllister plays a jockey who meets Shirley and when he finds out she's from Ireland, he puts on a fake Irish accent and says: "Top o' the morning to ya! Not bad, eh?"

To which Shirley says: "Bad enough to start a fight!"

She doesn't say it with a straight face. How could she?

Janet! Donkeys!

Her accent sounded pretty good to me. I'm not Irish but I suspect most of the other viewers aren't either.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
