Completely
unbelievable ending.
Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.
It's a better ending than Fuller's conventional "shoot out" ending. This kind of forced resolution is no worse than a buncha cops showing up and shooting our heroes dead.

I liked the ending. There were several awkward twists and turns in the film however.
shareA tragic shootout as originally planned may not have been a terribly inspired idea, either, but at least it would have made sense while a complete as-hole suddenly seeing the light and letting the couple off the hook, certainly does not. Feels terribly tacked-on mood-wise as well, as we'd witnessed things getting bleaker and bleaker as Wilde/Knight were hurtling towards an inevitable-seeming dead end.
