Bugler's Horse

Does any one know anything about the horse that the bugler was riding in SWAYR? I think it was ridden by the bugler in Rio Grande too. It was a chunky looking black horse with a blaze. It reared up and struck out with a hoof every time it was brought to a stop after a fast run but it would settle right down afterwards.
