Alan Baxter

I knew of Alan Baxter long before I took a drag of Wild Weed this afternoon. In this feature he reminds me of Jack Nicholson. The way he talked, looked, and his mannerisms made me think of Jack. This movie was better that I thought it would be and I was not disappointed.

Yes! He also reminded me of Jack Nicholson a great deal, both in looks and mannerisms (but not voice). You almost have to wonder if Nicholson adopted some of his persona from Baxter, the resemblance is that uncanny.

I was also reminded of Ralph Meeker's Mike Hammer character in KISS ME, DEADLY (which also featured Jack Elam!)

I also agree. Baxter's performance immediately brought Nicholson to mind, an uncanny resemblance in looks, mannerisms and style, if not voice.

Me too. Really very striking.

I felt the same way! In voice, mannerisms, and looks, he was the Jack Nicholson of the '40s.
