I'm just watching this now, and am a little distracted by the way they pronounce "Philistine".
I'm not saying they're wrong, necessarily, but I've never heard it pronounced this way. They say fill-ISS-teen; I'm pretty sure I've only ever heard FILL-is-tine.
Now I'm curious; does anyone else pronounce it the way they do in this film?
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
Either pronunciation is acceptable. Depends on how one learned the term and from whom. The term derives from an early Hebrew word, and words going back as far as that one don't generally bring a definitive pronunciation along with them when translated. Very true in the pronunciation of many ancient Egyptian words and names as well.

I live in Australia where the emphasis is usually in the 2nd syllable, (as opposed to my native England) but everyone I know here pronounces it FILL-is-tine.
