Stanley Holloway, stalwart British actor

There is little modern recognition for his supreme ability, puts Orlando Bloom and the other British actors in Hollywood to shame.

A gent that acts with much style and presence.

Here's to the Burgundy Lido!

You are quite right. This gentleman actor was not given the credit he deserved. Dont forget that as well as some Ealing comedies he was also in My Fair Lady playing Eliza Doolittles father, and also that great favourite movie of mine, This Happy Breed, where he played the neighbour.

Let us also not forget that Stanley Holloway was the Grandfather of Sophie Dahl. Not many people know that.

Should have been knighted.
