Frank Sinatra runs like a girl in this movie.

Gene and Jules run like normal men in the opening number. But Frank trails behind with flaccid arms and that certain telltale skip.

I think he was looking for sailors rather than glamour gals.

I never noticed that before! But I will have to look out for it next time I watch... lol!

Sinatra's costumes were padded in the butt, if Betty Garrett is to be believed. That could be the reason is gait was tentative.

reply

Ahhh, give him a break, he was probably running like a kid because he was supposed to be acting innocent and boyish. I mean, Chip is innocence personified :-)

reply

Why were they padded in the butt? Was it so his didn't look like a pancake next to Gene Kelly's ass of steel?

reply

He was so skinny, too bad they couldn't have padded his legs too!

reply

Hahaha ... oh, that cracked me up! Gene did have an exceptional booty, didn't he? ;)

reply

AHAHAHAHAHA! Ass of steel. Totally true.

Sinatra COULDN'T have had a flatter ass than Robert Culp. Never could figure out how his pants stayed up, even with a belt!
